Backup & Storage Engineer

Role Summary

CGI is hiring a Backup & Storage Engineer for its Infrastructure/Cloud team in Domlur, Bengaluru. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise block, file, and object storage subsystems along with enterprise backup software like Commvault. You will manage storage networks over Fibre Channel SAN and iSCSI protocols, ensure data resilience, and support hyper-converged enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Storage Administration: Provision, manage, and optimize block storage subsystems (IBM, Infinidat) and file storage architectures (NetApp NAS).
• Backup & Recovery Operations: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise backup schedules, data protection workflows, and recovery operations using Commvault.
• Storage Networking & Protocols: Maintain and troubleshoot Fibre Channel (FC) SAN infrastructure, zoning, LUN masking, and iSCSI storage connections.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Support hyper-converged environments and underlying OS platforms (Unix/Linux), conduct root-cause analysis on operational failures, and execute infrastructure change tasks.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage administration and backup operations.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Block Storage (IBM/Infinidat), Commvault Backup software, Fibre Channel SAN, and iSCSI protocol.
• Preferred Exposure: NetApp (NAS), Dell Storage, Unix/Linux environments, and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).
