Role Overview
CGI is hiring an AI Engineer within its Analytics and Emerging Digital Technologies practice in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. In this technical delivery role, you will design, develop, and operationalize Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The position focuses on translating enterprise Data & AI strategies into production-ready implementations by utilizing Python, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Microsoft Azure cloud engineering services to deliver scalable AI systems.
Core Responsibilities
- AI Solution Engineering: Build, test, and deploy AI/ML and Generative AI applications in Python, integrating LLMs via LangChain, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, and Azure AI Foundry.
- RAG & Agent Workflows: Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering, tool calling, and function calling workflows.
- Software Architecture & Integration: Develop REST APIs, microservices, and orchestration layers to embed AI capabilities into enterprise systems, implementing logging, monitoring, and observability mechanisms.
- Data Transformation & Analysis: Process and analyze structured and unstructured data using NumPy, Pandas, Polars, and optimized SQL across relational databases and SQLite.
- Cloud & Platform Architecture: Engineer cloud-native AI pipelines on Microsoft Azure using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and serverless Azure Functions with ARM templates.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Collaborate within Agile and DevOps frameworks, maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines via GitHub and Azure DevOps.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or AI/ML solution development.
- Programming & Data: Strong proficiency in Python development, REST API design, and data processing libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Polars) combined with advanced SQL skills.
- Generative AI & LLMs: Direct experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM applications using LangChain, model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), RAG architectures, and AI evaluation frameworks.
- Azure Ecosystem: Working experience with Microsoft Azure data and AI technologies (Azure Databricks, ADF, Azure Functions, Azure AI Foundry) and infrastructure automation using ARM templates.
- DevOps & Delivery: Hands-on familiarity with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, and Agile methodologies.
- Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft certifications (Azure AI Engineer Associate / Azure Data Engineer Associate), exposure to MLOps/LLMOps, and experience with vector databases (Azure AI Search, Pinecone, or Weaviate).
