Role Overview
Capgemini features an opening for a Guidewire Developer / Lead within its Software Engineering practice, with opportunities across Hyderabad, Kolkata, Noida, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar. In this core enterprise insurance platform role, you will design, configure, customize, and support scalable solutions across the Guidewire InsuranceSuite ecosystem (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and Integrations) for global Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance clients. Leveraging Gosu, Java, Guidewire Studio, and modern integration frameworks, you will build robust policy administration workflows, claims management processes, billing engines, and enterprise-level web service integrations.
Core Responsibilities
- Guidewire Platform Engineering: Design, configure, and maintain core Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications utilizing Gosu, Java, Guidewire Studio, and standard configuration tools.
- PolicyCenter Capabilities: Configure underwriting rules, rating algorithms, pricing logic, product definitions, and lifecycle transactions including renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- ClaimCenter Workflows: Build and support claims adjudication workflows, business rules, custom plugins, batch processing jobs, and external system interfaces.
- BillingCenter Operations: Enhance billing operations including payment plans, invoice generation, commissions, delinquency management, payment allocations, refunds, and general ledger (GL) postings.
- Enterprise Integrations: Architect and implement integrations using the Guidewire Integration Framework, event messaging, batch processes, and SOAP/RESTful web services with JSON/XML payloads.
- Third-Party System Connectivity: Integrate Guidewire platforms with external comparative raters, payment gateways, document management systems, customer portals, and enterprise accounting software.
- Quality & Agile Collaboration: Conduct unit testing, support QA/UAT verification, participate in sprint ceremonies, conduct peer code reviews, and support production deployments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of dedicated software development experience with hands-on implementation across Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications.
- Core Module Proficiency: Deep practical experience in one or more Guidewire core modules: PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, or Guidewire Integrations.
- Programming & Data: Strong proficiency in Gosu, Java, SQL, XML, XSD, JSON, and developing SOAP and RESTful web service integrations.
- Insurance Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance business workflows across policy, billing, and claims lifecycles.
- Platform Mechanisms: Hands-on experience with Guidewire data models, rules engines, plugins, messaging infrastructure, and batch scheduling.
- Preferred Credentials: Official Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, or Integration) and exposure to DevOps/CI-CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven) or Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP).
