Role Summary
Bull (an Atos Group brand) is hiring a Linux - HPC Administrator to support mission-critical high-performance computing environments. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and optimize Linux-based HPC clusters, parallel file systems (Lustre / GPFS), high-speed InfiniBand networking, and enterprise workload schedulers (Slurm / PBS). Operating in a 24x7 production environment, you will troubleshoot high-end server hardware, automate administration routines using shell scripting and Ansible, and deliver high service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- HPC Cluster Administration: Administer, configure, and maintain High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters utilizing OpenHPC, Bright Cluster, Torque, or Moab management stacks.
- Parallel File Systems & Storage: Support and maintain high-throughput parallel file systems including Lustre and GPFS alongside high-end enterprise server hardware.
- InfiniBand & Networking: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot InfiniBand (IB) interconnect switches, adapters, and fabric architecture.
- Job Scheduling & Workload Management: Manage and optimize workload schedulers and batch job managers, including Slurm and PBS execution environments.
- Automation & Incident Management: Write shell scripts and maintain Ansible playbooks for operational task automation; participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and 24x7 incident management.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Linux System Administration and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Linux Expertise: Deep system administration proficiency across enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, SLES, CentOS).
- HPC Technical Stack: Proven experience with parallel file systems (Lustre/GPFS), InfiniBand fabric, and workload managers (Slurm/PBS).
- Scripting & Configuration Management: Practical shell scripting capabilities for automation and operational efficiency; experience with Ansible is highly preferred.
- Operational Requirements: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to support 24x7 operational escalation shifts.
