Role Summary
BMW TechWorks India (a joint venture between the BMW Group and Tata Technologies) is hiring an Embedded C# Engineer - Lights for its Digital Car team in Pune, Maharashtra. In this role, you will help develop and maintain the software stack managing exterior lighting and Body Control Module (BCM) functions for BMW vehicles. You will focus on Windows GUI software development, C#/C++ embedded software design, unit testing, and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Application & GUI Development: Design, develop, and maintain Windows GUI tools and applications using C# alongside C++ embedded software components.
- Embedded Software & BCM Controls: Develop software stack features to control vehicle exterior lights and Body Control Module (BCM) functions across microcontroller architectures.
- Software Architecture & Design: Perform requirements engineering, create UML software designs, and document code structures following structured engineering principles.
- SIL & Hardware Testing: Execute unit testing, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing, and debug software components on virtual environments (QEMU/WSL) as well as physical hardware.
- DevOps & Tooling: Utilize modern development tooling including Git, Docker, VSCode, Visual Studio, Jira, and Confluence within an ASPICE/AUTOSAR aligned environment.
Key Qualifications
- Education: B.Tech/B.E. degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent technical stream.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of industry software development experience in C#, C++ (C++11/14), and embedded software systems.
- Core Technical Stack: Proficient in C# application development, Windows GUI frameworks, Embedded C++, microcontroller architectures, UML design, and SIL testing.
- Development Tools: Experience with Docker, Linux systems programming, WSL, Git, Visual Studio, and VSCode.
- Nice to Have: Knowledge of CAN bus communications, QEMU virtualization, Python scripting, AUTOSAR architecture, ASPICE frameworks, and MISRA coding standards.
