Role Summary
BMC Software is hiring a Sr DevOps Engineer for its cloud and platform engineering group in Pune. In this role, you will build, operate, and scale enterprise SaaS products in mission-critical production environments. You will drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps best practices, architect CI/CD automation pipelines, maintain Kubernetes and Docker infrastructure, lead incident response and postmortems, and ensure high availability across multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Key Responsibilities
- SaaS Production Operations: Manage multiple active versions of SaaS products in production, handling incidents, rollbacks, blameless postmortems, and long-term reliability enhancements.
- CI/CD & Automated Testing: Architect, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and delivery pipelines, prioritizing robust automated test suites over manual verification.
- Cloud & Container Orchestration: Deploy, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Docker containerization, and Kubernetes cluster orchestration.
- System Observability & Reliability: Debug issues across microservices, infrastructure layers, and deployment pipelines, taking direct ownership of operational outcomes and platform uptime.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience building and operating SaaS products in production environments.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep expertise in DevOps, SRE, public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD systems, test automation frameworks, Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC tools.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Formal cloud or SRE certifications, hands-on experience with BMC's software stack/internal platforms, and advanced distributed systems tracing.
- Core Soft Skills: Accountable leadership style, strong diagnostic troubleshooting under pressure, and clear technical communication.
