Role Summary
BlackRock is seeking an experienced Associate, Application Engineer to join the Preqin Enterprise Data Solutions team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Operating under BlackRock's hybrid model (4 days in-office, 1 day remote), you will join an engineering pod responsible for building, evolving, and supporting the platforms that power high-volume enterprise data delivery. In this role, you will design robust APIs, data feeds, and third-party integrations with cloud data warehouses—such as Snowflake—enabling enterprise clients to integrate and derive actionable value from private markets datasets.
Key Responsibilities
- Scalable Systems & Integrations: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable platforms supporting enterprise data distribution and third-party integrations.
- API & Service Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain robust APIs, data ingestion feeds, and delivery services using C#, Python, and modern web frameworks.
- Data Warehousing & Architecture: Partner with data owners and architects on data modeling and integration pipelines across cloud data platforms, specifically PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data stewards, and platform engineers to translate complex business workflows into enterprise-grade technical solutions.
- Reliability & Observability: Enhance the monitoring, observability, automated health checks, and continuous delivery pipelines across distributed data services.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on professional software engineering experience.
- Core Technical Skills: Strong programming and design expertise in C# and Python; hands-on experience with modern web frameworks and relational data systems like PostgreSQL.
- Data Platforms: Proven experience working with cloud data warehouses and analytics engines, particularly Snowflake or equivalent architectures.
- Engineering Practices: Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, modern CI/CD deployment pipelines, and scalable API architecture.
- Preferred Capabilities: Prior exposure to financial services, private equity, or private markets data solutions, as well as end-user tooling integrations.
