Role Summary

Baxter is hiring a Software Engineer (Eng I, Software) for its Research & Development team in Whitefield, Bengaluru. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, configuring, and supporting software features within medical and healthcare platform applications. You will apply SDLC methodologies (Agile, CI, refactoring), write clean code, implement core data structures, and automate operational workflows under the guidance of senior engineering leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feature Development: Program software features and application modules using business requirements while adhering to enterprise coding standards.
  • SDLC & Agile Practice: Apply Lean/Agile/XP principles, continuous integration (CI), unit testing, code refactoring, and secure product engineering practices.
  • Automation & System Integration: Participate in developing automation solutions and integrating new technical features into existing healthcare systems.
  • Quality & Process Improvement: Identify and escalate process or product quality gaps, maintaining clear technical documentation and testing rigor.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate degree in Computer Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from a reputed institution.
  • Experience: 0 to 3 years of relevant software engineering development experience.
  • Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong systems software programming skills in Java or C/C++, solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (OOD, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms, complexity analysis).
  • Preferred Technical Exposure: Experience with Lean/Agile methodologies, CI pipelines, product security guidelines, and test-driven refactoring.
  • Core Soft Skills: Action-oriented mindset, independent task ownership without supervision, discretion to seek guidance, and cross-functional collaboration.
