Role Overview
Autodesk is seeking a talented and results-driven Software Engineer – Search Infrastructure to join our Autodesk Platform Services team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the core scalable search platform that drives discovery experiences across Autodesk’s flagship industry cloud suites—Fusion, Forma, and Flow. Leveraging deep Java expertise, distributed microservices, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will build resilient, data-intensive systems capable of serving global users with high availability and low latency.
Core Responsibilities
- Distributed Microservices Development: Architect, implement, test, and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant, data-intensive microservices across cloud environments.
- Cloud Systems Engineering: Build, optimize, and maintain cloud-native backend services and RESTful APIs deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Data Storage & Persistence: Design, query, and tune relational and NoSQL database layers utilizing technologies such as MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Author clean, secure, and maintainable Java code adhering to strict engineering standards for system resiliency and scalability.
- Operational Excellence & SRE Collaboration: Partner closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to monitor metrics, optimize compute utilization, enforce SLAs, and participate in on-call rotations for rapid production incident resolution.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with technical leads, senior engineers, and product stakeholders to iteratively translate business and search requirements into production architectures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience designing, building, and operating medium- to large-scale distributed software systems.
- Core Language Mastery: Exceptional hands-on proficiency in the Java programming language along with solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design).
- Cloud & APIs: Practical hands-on experience building scalable applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and integrating RESTful web services with heterogeneous clients.
- Database Systems: Solid experience working with relational databases (MySQL) and managed NoSQL datastores (DynamoDB).
- Preferred Search & Data Knowledge: Hands-on exposure to search and information retrieval engines (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Apache Lucene), vector databases, or machine learning infrastructure is highly advantageous.
