Role Summary
Atlassian is hiring a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead its Finance Data Engineering team in Bengaluru, India (Remote-friendly). In this technical leadership position, you will recruit, mentor, and manager a high-performing team of data engineers building enterprise analytics platforms and financial data stores. You will oversee scalable data pipelines and modern cloud architectures leveraging Python, SQL, Databricks, Spark, AWS, and dbt to deliver trusted, business-critical data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership: Hire, coach, mentor, and manage career development for a team of data engineers working in agile environments.
- Technical & Architectural Guidance: Provide technical leadership across data engineering projects, driving cloud enterprise architecture standards and dimensional modeling.
- Engineering Excellence: Establish continuous delivery, test automation, and code quality standards across data pipelines and analytics platforms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Business Teams, Data Science, and Analytics Platform divisions to deliver scalable data products.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Graduate degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 6+ years in software/data development as an individual contributor, plus 4+ years of people management experience leading agile engineering teams.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep technical proficiency in Python, SQL, AWS (S3), Databricks, Spark / Spark Streaming, Graph Databases, dbt, and dimensional data modeling.
- Preferred Technical Skills: Exposure to RESTful APIs, microservices, Tableau visualization, Machine Learning workflows, or open-source contributions.
