Role Overview
Ascendion is seeking an experienced Data/ETL Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Azure, and the QNXT healthcare platform based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India (open across all Ascendion India locations). In this role, you will architect, build, and optimize enterprise-scale healthcare data platforms and data engineering pipelines. You will lead the integration and migration of claims, membership, eligibility, and provider datasets from QNXT and source platforms into modern Snowflake data warehouses, enabling advanced reporting, compliance tracking, and operational intelligence.
Core Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Architect, implement, and maintain scalable end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure and Snowflake to handle complex, large-scale healthcare datasets.
- QNXT Data Integration: Extract, ingest, transform, and reconcile healthcare transactional data—including claims adjudication, eligibility, provider directories, and membership records—from QNXT systems.
- Data Warehousing & Modeling: Design and maintain analytical Snowflake schemas, dimensional data models, and specialized data marts tailored for business analytics and reporting.
- Quality & Governance: Implement automated data validation frameworks, reconciliation pipelines, data governance policies, and audit trails across the entire data lifecycle.
- Platform Optimization: Perform continuous performance tuning, query optimization, storage management, and technical troubleshooting across Snowflake and Azure data infrastructure.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics leads, and clinical reporting teams to deliver reliable, analytics-ready datasets in an Agile environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 5 to 8 years of dedicated Data Engineering experience designing and managing enterprise data pipelines and warehouse solutions.
- Core Data Stack: Strong hands-on proficiency in Snowflake data warehousing, advanced SQL, complex data modeling, and ETL/ELT architecture.
- Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated programming capabilities using Python or Apache Spark for distributed data manipulation and transformations.
- Healthcare Domain & Platform: Solid experience working with the QNXT core administration system, with hands-on knowledge of claims, membership, provider, and eligibility data structures.
- Engineering Practices: Practical experience with version control (Git), automated CI/CD deployment pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Preferred Capabilities: Direct experience in Payer or Managed Care environments, data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow), HIPAA security standards, or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
