Role Summary
Ascendion is seeking a Data/ETL Engineer with expertise in Azure Databricks to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines. The role focuses on data integration, transformation, and data warehousing, with additional opportunities to work on Power BI dashboards and supply chain data.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, PySpark, and Python.
- Data Integration: Build and maintain data integration and transformation workflows.
- Data Processing: Use SQL and PySpark to process and transform data efficiently.
- Data Warehousing: Apply ETL/ELT processes, dimensional modelling, and Star Schema or Snowflake Schema concepts.
- Performance Optimization: Apply data optimization techniques to improve pipeline efficiency and reliability.
- Data Visualization: Support dashboard development and reporting using Power BI.
- Azure Services: Leverage relevant Azure ecosystem services to support data engineering solutions.
- Supply Chain Data: Apply supply chain domain knowledge where required.
Key Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Proficiency in PySpark, Python, and SQL.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, ETL/ELT, and dimensional modelling.
- Experience designing and developing scalable data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data integration, transformation, and optimization techniques.
- Power BI, Azure ecosystem services, and supply chain domain expertise are desirable.
