Role Summary
Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer within the Retail and Marcom Engineering team in Hyderabad, Telangana. In this high-scale engineering role, you will design, build, and maintain resilient, secure, and automated infrastructure supporting global online/physical retail systems and interactive marketing platforms. You will lead Kubernetes scaling initiatives, write Python infrastructure automation, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and implement AI-driven observability frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Kubernetes Engineering: Architect, scale, and troubleshoot enterprise Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and AWS cloud infrastructure across global enterprise systems.
- Automation & Scripting: Write production-grade Python tools, automated pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to streamline environment provisioning.
- CI/CD & Observability Deployment: Build and optimize continuous delivery workflows (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and set up full-stack observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Performance & Security Optimization: Tune Linux system performance, enforce network security (DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs), and integrate container/supply chain security protocols.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, drive AI-driven infrastructure automation (predictive scaling, self-healing systems), and collaborate across cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience: 9 to 13 years of core experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering at enterprise scale.
- Core Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Kubernetes performance tuning, AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, IAM, VPC), Linux OS internals, and Python automation.
- CI/CD & IaC Mastery: Proven track record with modern CI/CD orchestration tools along with Terraform/Ansible configuration management.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on exposure to AWS Lambda, multi-cloud setups, AI-powered anomaly detection tools, and container supply chain security standards.
