Role Summary:
Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in Siemens Teamcenter and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. In this role, you will be part of the central nervous system powering Apple's Enterprise PLM transformation initiative. You will play a vital role in delivering next-generation Product Information Management (PIM) platforms that drive Apple’s product innovations across hardware, software, and services global lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate heavily across cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, site reliability (SRE), and business teams to formulate technical engineering specifications.
- Craft end-to-end QA test plans, robust test cases, and highly scalable test automation strategies for complex, distributed full-stack applications.
- Build, execute, and scale browser-based and backend automation suites to validate platform capabilities.
- Isolate, identify, and meticulously document system defects, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to prioritize bug resolutions.
- Define, monitor, and assess core software quality metrics and KPIs to continuously maintain high-quality enterprise releases.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Core Experience: Minimum of 4 years of dedicated professional experience in software quality engineering, software development in test (SDET), or enterprise QA.
- PLM Specialization: Proven hands-on experience in testing, configuring, or automating enterprise application workflows within Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent PLM/PIM systems.
- Automation Tooling: Proficiency in building framework scripts for browser-based applications across multi-platforms using Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation suites.
- Architecture Testing: Direct experience automating and validating complex Asynchronous and Distributed enterprise systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong foundational backend programming depth in Java and its core microservice frameworks.
- Working knowledge of front-end web browser technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.js.
- Proficiency writing queries and testing database behaviors inside relational engines like Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Self-motivated mindset with excellent written and verbal English communication and stakeholder management skills.
