Role Summary
Amgen is hiring an Associate Software Engineer for its engineering facility in Hyderabad. In this hybrid software development and quality assurance role, you will contribute to building secure, user-friendly applications and RESTful APIs under the guidance of senior engineers. You will build responsive frontend interfaces using React, Vite, and TypeScript, integrate Python/FastAPI backend services, execute automated and manual QA testing, enforce secure coding standards (OWASP), and support CI/CD release pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Stack Software Development: Build responsive, accessible UI components using React, Vite, TypeScript, and CSS3, while contributing to backend microservice APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Quality Assurance & Automated Testing: Design and execute functional, regression, and integration test suites, manage defect resolution via Jira/Azure DevOps, and author automated tests using Cypress, Playwright, or Jest.
- API Integration & Database Support: Connect frontend interfaces with RESTful backend services, write SQL queries for relational databases, and perform API testing using Postman.
- DevSecOps & Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews, support continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines, handle security scanning remediation (SonarQube, Snyk, Veracode), and write technical documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of experience in software development and quality assurance.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Vite, Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, SQL, Git, and software testing methodologies.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, ECS, RDS), Docker containerization, SonarQube, WCAG web accessibility, and AI development tools (GitHub Copilot).
- Core Soft Skills: Strong analytical debugging, cross-functional collaboration with UX/QA teams, attention to detail, and a commitment to secure development practices.
