Role Summary

AMD is hiring a Software Development Engineer (Python / C++) for its engineering team in Hyderabad, India. In this senior engineering role, you will build and optimize high-performance software codebases, craft automated scripting flows in Python, and maintain core C++ applications. Working with AMD's cutting-edge hardware platforms and EDA software tools, you will drive complex system software projects to execution while applying object-oriented design patterns and low-level optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Python Automation & Scripting: Architect, build, and maintain enterprise automation scripts, test flows, and software tools using object-oriented Python.
  • C++ Development & Codebase Maintenance: Design and maintain performance-critical C++ modules, ensuring thread safety and concurrent execution on Linux environments.
  • Project & Delivery Leadership: Manage technical project timelines, risk assessments, and delivery schedules across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Debugging & Performance Profiling: Use advanced profiling tools and debuggers to identify bottlenecks, optimize algorithms, and deliver high-performance software solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record of delivering complex system software products.
  • Mandatory Technical Stack: Python (OOP & Automation), C++, Linux development, multi-threading/concurrent programming, and modern software design patterns.
  • Preferred Technical Exposure: EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool suite, Git version control, profilers, debuggers, and technical project management methodologies.
