Senior Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

AMD is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer for its engineering team in Bangalore, India. In this low-level systems engineering role, you will optimize key benchmark applications, participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups, and engineer high-performance NVMe firmware/drivers and PCIe Linux kernel components. Working alongside AMD's architecture specialists, you will apply data-driven approaches to optimize algorithms and shape next-generation silicon technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Firmware & Driver Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality C code for NVMe driver/firmware, NVMe Transport modules, and PCIe Linux kernel drivers.
• Hardware & ASIC Bring-up: Collaborate closely with architecture specialists during new ASIC and silicon hardware bring-up phases.
• Performance Optimization: Apply data-minded optimization methodologies to improve execution efficiency across key applications, benchmarks, and multi-threaded system tasks.
• Debugging & Architecture Trends: Debug low-level system issues, research novel algorithmic solutions, and stay ahead of hardware and software trends in storage and computing architecture.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience: 5–10 years of systems software engineering experience focused on low-level firmware, driver development, or embedded systems.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Proficient in C, embedded systems engineering, NVMe driver/firmware development, PCIe Linux drivers, concurrent programming, and Linux OS concepts.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: NVMe Transport firmware development, Android OS development, hardware debuggers, code profilers, and Git source control systems.
