Role Summary
Amazon (ADCI) is hiring a Software Dev Engineer 2 for the Amazon Payments Tech team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In this high-visibility role, you will help shape the global payment experiences for millions of Amazon customers worldwide. You will architect, build, and deploy fault-tolerant distributed back-end systems that ensure zero order loss, operate with 100% availability, and maintain strict customer security standards across high-volume, global payment workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Distributed Systems Architecture: Design, write, test, and deploy resilient, high-throughput distributed software solutions that process global payments reliably even during downstream outages.
- Full Stack & API Engineering: Build intuitive client-facing features while designing back-end microservices capable of scaling across diverse global payment platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Continuously analyze software components for security vulnerabilities, applying OWASP best practices to protect sensitive customer payment data.
- Engineering Excellence: Drive software engineering best practices, including rigorous code reviews, automated unit/integration testing, continuous integration, and operational observability.
- Agile Collaboration: Work in a fast-paced, startup-like Agile environment to deliver customer-centric features and solve complex business challenges.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of non-internship software development experience building scalable, high-volume production applications.
- System Design: 2+ years of experience designing and architecting distributed systems using modern design patterns, reliability principles, and scaling strategies.
- Programming Mastery: Hands-on proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Java, C++, Python, or Go).
- Full SDLC Discipline: Solid understanding of coding standards, version control (Git), build processes, automated deployment pipelines, and operational readiness.
