Role Summary
Amazon Business is looking for a passionate, customer-obsessed Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to join the Amazon Business Mobile team in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. In this full-time role, you will lead the ideation, system design, and implementation of cutting-edge mobile solutions that enhance purchasing, procurement, and shopping experiences for global B2B enterprises and single-buyer accounts. You will architect multi-tiered, high-throughput distributed systems, build robust Web Services, APIs, and SDKs, integrate agentic GenAI capabilities, and partner with cross-functional engineering teams worldwide to maintain world-class operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile CX & Solutions Architecture: Ideate, design, and implement end-to-end solutions to elevate the mobile shopping experience for millions of enterprise B2B customers.
- Distributed Services & API Engineering: Architect and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant Web Services, RESTful APIs, Microservices, Micro-Frontends, and client SDKs.
- High-Performance System Design: Apply modern software design patterns, maintain modular codebases, and optimize distributed architectures for low latency and high availability.
- Workflow Automation & GenAI Integration: Leverage emerging technologies, including workflow orchestration, automated configuration engines, and agentic Generative AI tooling, to improve procurement workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with core Amazon Retail engineering squads and global product teams to build custom B2B features and advocate for enterprise customer needs.
- Operational Excellence & Mentorship: Uphold Amazon's high Operational Excellence (OE) standards, monitor production health, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of non-internship professional software design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scalability, and distributed systems).
- Core Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, C++, Python, or Go), solid data structures and algorithms fundamentals, and distributed system design.
- Key Competencies: Microservices architecture, API development, asynchronous processing, and a strong track record of shipping production software on tight schedules.
- Preferred Capabilities: Direct experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform frameworks), AWS cloud services, SDK design, micro-frontends, or building AI-powered customer experiences.
