Role Summary
Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is hiring a Data Center Technician (DCO) - Data Center Operations for its cloud infrastructure operations in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In this hands-on hardware and infrastructure engineering role, you will maintain, scale, and troubleshoot AWS server, networking, and power infrastructure. Working as part of a 24x7 shift rotation team, you will execute rack installations, perform hardware break-fix repairs, resolve cabling and network incidents, and enforce strict safety, security, and SLA operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware & Rack Operations: Perform server rack installations, routine hardware break-fix repairs, component replacements, and decommission server racks across AWS data centers.
- Networking & Cabling Troubleshooting: Diagnose, test, and resolve issues related to fiber optic and copper cabling standards, network switches, and server interface connectivity.
- SLA & Incident Management: Respond to ticketed requests via directed operational workflows, maintain SLA timelines, and serve as the first line of support for hardware incidents.
- Shift & Maintenance Coverage: Participate in a 24x7 shift rotation, handling routine scheduled maintenance, change management execution, and on-call emergency responses.
- Root Cause Analysis & Documentation: Contribute to technical incident documentation, post-mortem root cause analysis, and operational process improvement initiatives.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or certifications in Computer Hardware, Electronics, Computer Networks, or relevant technical fields.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on data center operations, hardware repair, or enterprise IT infrastructure support experience.
- Hardware & Network Skills: In-depth knowledge of server hardware architecture (motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage disks) and fiber optic/copper cabling standards and test equipment.
- Operating Systems & Tools: Working familiarity with Linux system fundamentals, terminal commands, and ticket-based workflow management systems.
- Operational Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
